A recent survey found that 45% of businesses have had to cut trading hours or capacity in order to cope, costing the industry £21bn in lost revenue.
Other research, which tracked all job listings on Indeed.com between 8th and 21st June, found that the hospitality sector is the UK’s fifth industry most in need of workers. Just less than half of the 11,639 vacancies advertised were for chefs, making it the most in-demand food service role, followed by waiters.
