Over the past six years, I have had the privilege of being part of hap Solutions Group, a dynamic and innovative company that has seen remarkable growth. As a witness to hap’s evolution, I am excited to share our journey and my highlights with you.
Request More InfoYou may or may not know that hap started with Ben Harris, Ben Bowen, and Kieran Porter sitting around a kitchen table. I joined the team right at the beginning of March 2017 when we were just a small, close-knit group of five with the same values as what we have now! In our first year, we provided staff to 50 festivals in the UK. Now we provide staff to 250+ festivals as well as hundreds of hospitality venues.
Starting as a Staffing Assistant, my journey at hap has been filled with opportunities and growth. My roles have included Account Manager, Office Manager/Head of Staffing and now General Manager. I have worked with amazing people over the years, and I am proud of the strong team we have built, who are experts in the staffing industry. From the beginning, the values we care, we prepare, and we are open have been at the forefront of what we do, and it has remained this way over the years. As the team has grown over the years, it is important to us that anyone who joins the business implements these values into their everyday actions. Today’s team consists of 60+ talented individuals who are fully dedicated to our company’s success. With extensive experience in the staffing industry, they bring invaluable expertise and insights to the table. Today, the team is stronger than ever.
I have had so many highlights over the years. The ones that stand out are…
Charity Partnerships: In 2022, we supported Beechwood Cancer Care. Over the year, we held lots of fundraising events, a favourite being our charity football match. And this year, our Office Team decided to support Manchester Mind, a charity very close to my heart. Recently, 21 team members completed the Tough Mudder Challenge, and we raised over £3,500 for the charity. A great event that the team had a lot of fun completing, and we were amazed to have raised so much for an amazing charity.
Festivals: I have travelled the breadth of the UK & Ireland with our team, working at numerous events such as Tramlines, Electric Picnic, British Summer Time and many more. It’s amazing to get to see all these events in action and all the hard work that goes on in the background. I love being able to be a part of these events, and getting onsite with the team is such a great experience – a lot of laughs and a lot of hard work!
Days out: Over the years, we have had some fantastic days out as a team. A definite highlight was the escape room that we completed this year. Whilst my team didn’t get out, we were very close, and we worked great together with team members from different departments, helping us all get to know each other that little bit better! Our end-of-summer and Christmas parties are always good fun that everyone looks forward to all year round, and we are currently counting down the days until our next one. And of course we have been to many football matches with various members of the team, Newcastle, Liverpool and of course my favourite Manchester City.
Training and Development days: Here at hap, we are always keen to train and develop our team. We have held numerous different training days to help bring the teams together to learn, develop and get to know each better. Our operations team training and welfare training was a huge success this year, getting all our operations team together before the beginning of Summer really helped us to start the season right. Our in-office training days are just as important, bringing in external training providers and having each of our teams focus on key aspects of their role to improve and develop our individuals. All of these have been highly valuable to the team and are important for us within hap. This helps our members of the team progress within their roles, and it’s amazing to see individuals step up into their next role. I have loved playing a part in people’s professional development, and it’s great to see our departments develop as a whole.
The team has had many highlights over the years, but perhaps the most recent is our new office! The new office highlights the growth hap has had since I joined, and the space is a great environment for everyone. The modern space and social areas promote creativity and foster collaboration. I can’t wait to see what the future brings for hap Solutions Group and the team!
