Nicola Cookson – National Account Manager

  • What is your job role? National Account Manager. I look after our clients in the hospitality sector of the business.
  • Why do you enjoy working with our clients? I love ensuring our clients receive top-tier service and solutions tailored to their needs. Building solid relationships is key, and I really enjoy visiting clients at different locations – it gives me a chance to better understand their unique challenges and see firsthand how we can help them succeed.
  • What’s the most rewarding part of managing client relationships for you? It’s great to be the main point of contact and to collaborate internally to provide our clients with exactly what they need. The most rewarding part of the job is being able to help and knowing that our services have helped our clients with their operations.
  • How do you build and maintain long-term relationships with clients? I’ve been fortunate to work with some clients for over 20 years now. Having spent my entire career in hospitality, I’ve built strong relationships that go beyond business—many clients have become friends over the years. By staying committed to providing excellent service, being reliable, and understanding their needs, I’ve been able to create long-lasting partnerships that stand the test of time. It’s about trust, consistency, and genuinely caring about their success.

Alec Charriaux – Partnerships Manager

  • What is your job role? Partnerships manager. My role is to create and maintain new and existing partnerships for our clients, always checking up on them and ensuring they are receiving the best service.
  • What type of clients do you look after? Hotels, restaurants, bars, catering companies, bar operators, festivals, event venues, and warehouses.
  • What’s the most rewarding part of managing client relationships for you? It’s great to be the main point of contact and to collaborate internally to provide our clients with exactly what they need. The most rewarding part of the job is being able to help and knowing that our services have helped our clients with their operations.
  • What are some highlights of your career at hap? I am very lucky that I have a great network in the hospitality industry, working with previous accounts along with amazing new ones. Onboarding new music festivals and hotels across the UK. We have recently started a partnership with a fantastic Scottish hotel chain, which we are very excited to be working with
  • If you were a client, what would be the one thing that would make you want to partner with hap? I would say the fact that we create a partnership, not just a relationship, with every client.

Kieran Porter – Operations Director

  • What is your job role? As Operations Director, my role is incredibly varied—no two days are the same. During the summer, I’m primarily on-site at festivals, overseeing our teams in action. In winter, I’m out and about meeting clients, especially those in hospitality, and gearing up for the next year with detailed planning and preparation.
  • What makes hap special? hap is a unique staffing agency with a versatile approach. We serve a wide range of clients across diverse industries, and our reach extends throughout the UK and Ireland. Our strength lies in our dedicated and skilled team who work tirelessly to meet client expectations.
  • If you were a client, what would make you want to partner with hap? I’d be drawn to hap because we prioritise the success of every event. We don’t just provide staff; we also deploy dedicated on-site teams to oversee operations, ensuring everything runs seamlessly and clients can focus on their guests and experiences.
  • How do you collaborate with internal teams to ensure client needs are met effectively? Clear and open communication is essential. Our office team is highly experienced and brings years of expertise to the table. We have team members who have been with hap for years, and everyone is genuinely committed to supporting our clients and delivering a high standard of service.

Ben Bowen – Associate Director

  • What is your job role? Associate Director – I do abit of everything: operational management/support, strategy & sales, finance & payroll.
  • Why do you think clients should partner with hap? We care, we’re open, and we prepare – these values transcend everything we do and run through every interaction we have with you as a client and our workforce.
  • What are some highlights of your career at hap? Watching hap grow over the past eight years has been incredibly rewarding. Some standout moments include seeing our teams and departments expand and evolve, as well as strengthening our overall business structure to better serve our clients.
  • If you were a client, what would be the one thing that would make you want to partner with hap? We throw everything at it and more – and I mean that. We really care about your business and the roles you are looking to fill. We’re not just a fastest finger-first agency; we make the time to recruit, select and deploy the right staff for your roles.
  • How do you manage client expectations when the team faces challenges or setbacks? Communication. As Ben, our CEO, would say, “We’re never going to let a car crash happen”. Therefore, we are always working through challenges, being open with our communication and any issues, and collectively resolving these as appropriate.

Charlotte Whitton – General Manager

  • What is your job role? General manager. I oversee our teams in the office, to ensure we deliver on our requirements to clients and staff. And more specifically oversee the Festival & Events team – so a lot of involvement in our large-scale shows.
  • Why do you think clients should partner with hap? Our values! We care, we are open And we prepare. We really do care about our staff and the service that we provide to our clients, and there is so much effort behind the scenes that goes into this. And we keep them informed throughout the process!  

  • What are some highlights of your career at hap? Our growing team and the culture that we have built within hap. The amazing festivals we have done over the years, there are too many to name! Our success with long-run events such as Drumsheds and Alexandra Palace, it’s amazing to be a part of these.

  • How do you look after our clients? Communication is key! It’s very important to keep our clients informed and have honest relationships.

  • If you were a client, what would be the one thing that would make you want to partner with hap? The relationships we build! And our success stories.

  • How do you collaborate with internal teams to ensure client needs are met effectively? We have a great dynamic in the office! The teams work really well together and have the same goal to deliver on the great events we supply at.

Lydia Tattersall – Head of People Operations

  • What is your job role? As head of People Operations, I oversee a team of staffing managers and assistants responsible for the successful delivery of staff across a range of venues in the UK and Ireland.
  • What type of clients do you look after / have contact with? I look after a vast array of different clients. They include major premier league football venues, arenas, stadiums, racecourses, event spaces, bars, restaurants, hotels, education facilities and more. Building and maintaining client relationships is a huge part of my role. I enjoy building rapport with my clients and further understanding their roles and responsibilities at their venue.
  • What are some highlights of your career at hap? I have had so many great experiences while working at hap. Some of these include overseeing the deployment and on-site operations of hundreds of staff across the Taylor Swift concerts at Murrayfield Stadium this summer. Another great experience was attending the festival awards ceremony 2023 in Manchester, this was a fantastic time to recognise the industries successes. Furthermore, attending the Manchester Night Time Economy Summit 2024 was a brilliant opportunity to broaden my understanding of the industry in the city I live in.
